Ten
years ago I piloted Challenge 59 in, what was at the time, the 13th
most deprived ward in the U.K. Child obesity levels were increasing and
local health professionals were looking to create a child focussed
strategy towards health and wellbeing. See our documentary
here.
Ten
years on childhood obesity rates continue to soar, mental health issues
are rising and the way we communicate and interact with each other
through technology is changing. I wanted to revive Challenge 59 in areas
with health inequalities, and in schools where the young voice can be
amplified and put at the heart of the creative ideas.
Today
we are delighted to receive hard copies of our new education resource
with a foreword written by Sir Ken Robinson. We are
proud to have worked with some incredible artists so far and look
forward to introducing them to you as we go forwards. Together with our partners and participating
schools we are looking forward to hearing the young voices and what
matters to them about health in localities!
We will be sharing their experiences across education, council, health and arts sectors over the next academic year. Watch this space for more updates....
